SNU Team Creates CO2 'Net'

A team of Korean researchers says it has developed a substance that can reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The team, led by Seoul National University Professor Paik Myung-hyun, says it has created a molecular coordination of compounds that can specifically trap carbon dioxide emissions.

The team says the compounds can absorb CO2 and trap it in a “net” composed of nickel compounds and organic molecules.

Paik says the substance will help reduce CO2 emissions in the long run.
