Korea has set a new country high for a Winter Olympics by winning 14 medals in Vancouver.
The national team has won six golds, six silvers and two bronzes to break the previous mark of eleven (six gold, three silver and two bronze) set at the 2006 Turin Olympics.
The number of gold medals remained the same, but the tally is far more evenly distributed across events.
In Turin, Korea’s six golds all came from short track as Ahn Hyun-su and Jin Sun-yoo won three each. This powered Korea to seventh among participating nations, but the country's only other medal was the bronze in the 500-meter speed skating event.
Korea in Vancouver has won golds in speed skating, short track and figure skating.
The biggest star for Korea in the Winter Olympics this year is world figure skating champion Kim Yu-na. She won the gold in spectacular fashion, with her flawless performances setting new world records for scoring in women's figure skating.
