S. Korea Adds 2 Silver, 1 Bronze in Olympic Short Track Events

South Korea's short track speed skating team has grabbed the silver medal in the men's five-thousand meter relay at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

The team, made up of Kwak Yoon-gy, Lee Ho-suk, Lee Jung-su and Sung si-bak, won the silver medal in the event on Friday. The gold went to the host, Canada.

Ahead of the team event, Sung Si-bak won the men’s 500 meter short-track silver. Sung finished the race third but grabbed the silver after Apolo Anton Ohno of the U.S., who finished second, was disqualified for causing a pile-up around the final turn in the race.

Meanwhile, Park Seung-hi won the bronze in the women’s one-thousand-meter short track event. The gold went to China’s Wang Meng and the silver to American Katherine Reutter.

South Korea currently has won six gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
