South Korean speed skater Mo Tae-bum has picked up his second medal of Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Mo came in second in the 1000-meter speed skating event at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Thursday (KST), clocking in with a time of one minute 9.12 seconds to clinch a silver medal.

Mo finished just behind American Shani Davis, who topped Mo's time in the final pairing of the event with a time of one minute 8.94 seconds.

Mo picked up a gold medal on Tuesday in the 500-meter speed skate, becoming the first Korean to win gold in an Olympic speed skating event.

South Korea currently sits in a three-way tie for second in terms of gold medals behind the United States.
