2 S. Korean Ski Jumpers Qualify for Normal Hill Event

South Korean ski jumpers Kim Hyun-ki and Choi Heung-chul have secured a spot in the normal hill event at the Vancouver Olympics.

Kim on Saturday soared 99 meters at the men’s individual qualifying event at Whistler Olympic Park for a score of 121-point-five points. He ranked 22nd.

Choi, meanwhile, ranked 40th together with Anders Johnson of the United States after jumping 93-point-five meters to come away with a score of 108-point-five.

However, South Korean ski jumper, Choi Yong-jik, failed to secure a spot in the normal hill event which is granted only to those who rank within the top 40.
