Second Naro Launch Likely in Late May

The second launch of the nation's first space rocket "Naro" will likely take place in late May or early June.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) on Monday said that it will try its best to make the second launch a success by thoroughly analyzing the cause of the failure in the first launch in August of last year.

The institute said that the first stage of the rocket will be assembled in Russia and delivered to South Korea in late March or early April. It is expected to take about two months to prepare the launch after the delivery of the first-stage rocket.

The Naro Space Center last week started testing the performance of a launch pad for the Naro's second launch.

The Naro rocket failed to send a satellite into orbit due to problems with the separation of a fairing covering the satellite.
