Icebreaker 'Araon' to Arrive in Terra Nova Bay

The nation's first ice-breaking vessel, the "Araon," will arrive Saturday in Terra Nova Bay as part of a scouting mission to find a suitable location for Korea’s second scientific research station in Antarctica.

Officials said Friday that the survey team will arrive in Terra Nova on Saturday, Korean Standard Time.

The following day, they will start a four-day survey of potential research base sites.

The Araon will leave Antarctica on February eleventh and will arrive in New Zealand around February 20th.
