H1N1 Virus-Suppressor Found in Medicinal Herbs

A South Korean research team says it has discovered a substance in wild herbs that can be used to fight H1N1 influenza.

The team, led by Doctor Ma Jin-yeol of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine, said Monday that the substance “KIOM-C,” which is found in traditional medicinal herbs, is effective in repressing the H1N1 influenza virus.

The team said that people can repress the new flu virus through regular consumption of any of the medicinal herbs that have the substance.

The team said that unlike the antiviral drug “Tamiflu,” the substance is an all-natural safe remedy.
