Seol Ki-hyeon will leave Fulham of the English Premier League to join the Pohang Steelers of Korea.
Pohang's Web site said Sunday that the striker has signed a one-year deal but did not release details of the contract.
Seol, 31, will return to Korea Monday and attend the signing ceremony Wednesday in Pohang, South Gyeongsang Province.
His joining of the reigning Asian Football Confederation's Champions League winner is expected to raise his chances of joining the national team in the South Africa World Cup this summer.
Seol is best known for scoring the late tying goal in Korea's 2-1 win over Italy in the 2002 World Cup.
He began his professional playing career in July 2000 with Royal Antwerp of the Belgian first league after spurning an offer in Japan. He then joined Anderlecht a year later.
In August 2004, Anderlecht sold his rights to the Wolverhampton Wolverines of England's Championship League. He later joined Reading FC of the Premier League in July 2006 and then Fulham in September 2007.
Due to a lack of playing time at Fulham, he agreed to play in January last year for Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal for six months on loan.
He returned to Fulham for this season but did not play a game for the team after October.
