The national soccer team has given up the most goals in a game in more than five years in a 4-2 loss to Zambia in a friendly.
In Johannesburg Saturday, Felix Katongo scored in the sixth minute and Rainford Kalaba added another in the 14th to give Zambia a quick 2-0 lead.
Kim Jung-woo scored for Korea in the 34th minute, but James Chamanga kicked in the African country's third goal in the 58th and teammate Noah Chivuta added one in the 71st.
Koo Ja-cheol blasted one into the goal for Korea late in injury time in the second half, but it was too late.
This is the first time for Korea to give up more than three goals in a game since coach Huh Jung-moo took over in 2007. Zambia is also the first team to score four goals against Korea in five years and six months.
Korea will play this week a South African pro team in its second friendly of the New Year. The Taegeuk Warriors will then go to Malaga, Spain, for friendlies against Finland January 18th and Latvia January 22nd.
