Kim Yu-na to Miss 4 Continents in Jeonju

The Korea Skating Union (KSU) has made the final decision not to have figure skating champion Kim Yu-na compete at the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships that will be held in Jeonju at the end of January.

The KSU said it had been asked many times by the International Skating Union (ISU) to have Kim compete at the competition, but that it had decided to accept Kim’s wishes to concentrate on preparing for the Winter Olympics to be held in February.

Accordingly, Kwak Min-jung, Kim Chae-wha and Kim Na-young will represent Korea at this year’s Four Continents competition.

Kim had said since March 2009 that she would not compete at the Four Continents Championships, but has been mulling over her decision upon the ISU’s request for her to compete there.
