Michelle Kwan to Give Lessons in Korea

Five-time world champion figure skater Michelle Kwan will visit Korea during the first week of 2010 as a U.S. State Department goodwill ambassador.

The public affairs department of the U.S. Embassy said on Wednesday that Kwan will visit Korea on January third and provide lessons to South Korean figure skaters. During her one-week stay, she plans to participate in various other events as well.

This will be Kwan’s second visit to Korea following her visit in August. She will give lessons on January fourth to 12 figure skaters with intellectual and developmental disabilities who will represent Korea in the Special Olympics.

The following day, she will hold a “Master Class” for six figure skaters who represent South Korea in world events, excluding Yuna Kim. Kim is currently training in Canada.
