FIFA opens headquarters for 2002 World Cup at Grand Hyatt Hotel

Soccer's world governing body FIFA opened its operational headquarters Wednesday for the 2002 World Cup finals at Seoul's Grand Hyatt Hotel. Among 60 FIFA officials expected to visit South Korea for the finals, an initial 20 member FIFA delegation will arrive in Seoul the same day, with FIFA head Sepp Blatter scheduled to arrive in Seoul next Thursday. FIFA officials will stay in either the Hyatt or Shilla hotel. The world soccer body is expected to begin operation of the headquarters from Thursday for the May 31-June 30 competition that will be held in South Korea and Japan.
