The Pohang Steelers have won third place in the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Atlante of Mexico.

The Steelers prevailed in a 4-3 penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Denilson gave Pohang the lead in the 42nd minute, but Atlante tied the score in the 55th minute thanks to a goal by Rafael Marquez.

In the shootout, Horatio Peralta hit the left post, giving the Steelers the win.

Pohang will receive 2.5 million dollars in prize money.
