Snowboard Games in Seoul to Air in 170 Nations

Snowboard events at the International Ski Federation's World Cup in downtown’s Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on Sunday will be broadcast in 170 countries.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government says ten Korean and foreign broadcasters will air the snowboard games --- including Japan's Fuji Television, ESPN and STAR Sports.

Events, such as the ski jump and a snowboard gala, will be held Friday and Saturday before the FIS World Cup preliminary and finals open Sunday.

Just as other cities have hosted the cup in hopes of promoting local attractions, Seoul is hoping for a similar effect by holding the cup in Gwanghwamun Square, with Gyeongbok Palace, Mount Bukhan and other landmarks visible in the backdrop of the games.
