Kim Yu-na Captures Grand Prix Final

South Korean figure skating star Kim Yu-na has won the gold medal at the ISU (International Skating Union) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Tokyo.

In the free skating competition held at Yoyogi National Stadium on Saturday evening, Kim scored 123.22 points for a combined short program-free skating total of 188.86 to regain the ISU Grand Prix Final title.

Skating fifth in the six-woman field, she put on a powerful, elegant performance to George Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F, edging out rival Miki Ando of Japan, who claimed second place with a score of 185.94. Akiko Suzuki, also of Japan, came in third with 174 points.

On Friday, Kim stumbled in her bid to recapture the Grand Prix Final title with a score of 65.64 in the short program, coming in second to former world champion Ando.
