Kim Yu-na Finishes Second in Short Program

World figure skating champion Kim Yu-na has finished second in the short program at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Tokyo.

Kim finished as the runner-up with 65.64 points Friday evening, losing to Miki Ando of Japan, who put up a score of 66.20 points.

Kim earned a technical element score of 33.80 and a program components score of 31.84. She had scored a personal-best of 76.28 in the short program last month at Skate America.

Alena Leonova of Russia finished third in Tokyo with 61.60 points.

The free skating competition will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
