Art troupes from four World Cup qualifiers will stage music and dance performances here in Jeonju during the soccer tournament in June to promote their own folk culture to Koreans and other foreign visitors. The Jeonju municipal government said Tuesday some 120 members of art troupes from Spain, Italy, Poland and Portugal will visit the southwestern city for the performances scheduled for June 7th thru 10th when soccer teams from the countries, except Italy, will hold matches. The troupes, including Spain's "Pala de Harorca," Italy's "Sbandieratori," Poland's "Silesianie," and Portugal's "Folkcloroco," will perform on a special stage to be installed beside the Jeonju World Cup Stadium. Another World Cup qualifier, Paraguay, whose national team will also play a match in Jeonju against Spain, will hold a fine-art exhibition, instead of a folk music and dance performance.
