The nation’s fencing team has taken the top place in the 2009 Asian Fencing Championships.

South Korea won six gold, three silver and eight bronze medals—its best-ever performance in the international competition in Doha, Qatar.

On Thursday, the last day of the week-long event, the women’s team won a gold medal by beating China 45 to 34 in the group fleuret.
