Shin Remains Atop LPGA Money List

Golfer Shin Ji-yai has solidified her position atop the LPGA’s money list.

Shin, a three-time first-place finisher this season, received some 65-thousand U.S. dollars in prize money after finishing third at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational held in Mexico over the weekend.

In doing so, Shin raised her season prize money total to some one-point-seven million dollars, 280-thousand dollars ahead of Christie Kerr who ranked second, as of Monday.

Shin is the second Asian player to top the money list since Japan’s Ayako Okamoto did it in 1987.

With the win, Shin is also believed to have wrapped up the rookie of the year title and may have taken the lead from Ochoa for player of the year honors.
