Kim Yu-na Wins 7th Straight Grand Prix Title

Figure skating phenom Kim Yu-na grabbed her seventh straight Grand Prix title at Skate America on Sunday in Lake Placid, New York.

Kim put up a score of 111.70 in the free skate and 187.98 overall, which was 13 points higher than second-place finisher, American Rachel Flatt.
Kim set a world record of 76.28 in the short program the previous day, which helped balance out a mistake-laden performance on Sunday.

During the free skate, the 19-year-old Kim fell while attempting to pull off a triple flip and almost missed a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination.

With the win, Kim qualified for the Grand Prix Final in Tokyo next month for the fourth straight year. Only the top six skaters take part in the final.
