Korean scientists have made a breakthrough in the development of doping technologies for nano semiconductors.

A Seoul National University team led by Professor Hyeon Taek-hwan says it has successfully developed a way to effectively dope nanocrystals.

Semiconductor doping is the process of adding impurities to ultra-minute chips to enable better electricity flow.

The technology is expected to be used in developing solar cells, light-emitting diodes (LED) and various types of memory chips.

The findings have been published on the Internet edition of the British science magazine Nature Materials.
