World figure skating champion Kim Yu-na has won her sixth ISU Grand Prix title at the Trophee Bompard in Paris, the first event of the Grand Prix season.
She received a record score of 210.03 points, easily beating her previous best of 207.71 at the world championships in Los Angeles in March. Her rival Mao Asada of Japan finished a distant second with 173.99 points and Yukari Nakano was third with 165.70.
Kim's latest triumph has further raised her heavy favorite status to win the gold medal in the Vancouver Winter Olympics next year.
Kim performed in a blue halter-neck dress full of jewels to George Gershwin's "Piano Concerto in F Major."
The Associated Press says she was untouchable in combining speed, athleticism and grace.
This was the second Trophee Bompard victory for Kim, who won in Paris three years ago. She began with a perfect triple lutz-triple toeloop combination and remained perfect throughout her short program.
Next for the Korean skater is Skate America in Lake Placid, New York, next month to qualify for the Grand Prix Final in Tokyo in December.
