Figure skating sensation Kim Yu-na has finished on top of the standings in the women’s short program at the opener of the 2009-2010 Grand Prix figure skating series in Paris.
She displayed her perfect techniques to music from James Bond movies, sparkling in her dynamic routine.
The current world champion captured the top spot with a score of 76-point-08 points, nearly reaching her personal best and record score of 76-point-2 points.
Kim outperformed second-place finisher Yukari Nakano, of Japan, by over 16 points. Nakano came in second with a score of 59-point-64 points.
Her archrival, Mao Asada of Japan, failed to complete a triple axel and finished third with a score of 58-point-96 points.
Kim outperformed all competitors at the event, brightening her prospects for victory at the Vancouver Winter Olympics next year.
She will perform the free skating program on Saturday to seal her first victory of the season ahead of the Winter Olympics.
