KSLV-II Project Set in Motion

Korea has included plans to develop the first homegrown Korea Space Launch Vehicle in next year’s budget.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute says plans to develop the KSLV-II, which will carry a one-point-five ton satellite into space, has been included in the Science and Technology Ministry’s budget for next year.

Development of the satellite will start next year, with plans to launch the KSLV-II by 2019.

The allocated budget of one-and-a-half trillion won will be used to produce and test the vehicle.

The KSLV-I, also known as the space vehicle “Naro,” was a joint endeavor with Russia.
