U20 Soccer Team Falls to Cameroon, 2-0

The national under-20 soccer team fell to Cameroon, 2-0, in a Group C match of the FIFA World U20 Championships in Suez, Egypt.

Andre Akono Effa unleashed a powerful shot from the right side of the field in the 19th minute. Korean goalie Lee Bum-young looked to make a save but the ball went through his gloves and into the net.

Coach Hong Myung-bo's Taegeuk Warriors hardly threatened its African opponent in the second half. Cameroon added an insurance goal in the 64th minute from Germain Tiko, who deflected a free kick into the goal.

Korea will play Germany Thursday and the U.S. Oct. 2.
