An object found in Australia could be part of the debris left by the Korean space rocket “Naro,” which failed to place a satellite into orbit on Tuesday.

The Science and Technology Ministry says it heard news of the object found in Darwin City from the Korean Embassy in Australia and is trying to confirm the report.

The ministry says the object could be a piece of heat-resisting material belonging to the satellite’s kick-motor nozzle.

An official from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology’s Satellite Technology Research Center will be sent to Australia to confirm the finding.

Meanwhile the ministry, while announcing interim probe results on the rocket launch, disclosed footage of a fairing that did not properly release from the satellite, which is the reason why the satellite failed to enter the target orbit.
