Rehearsal for Naro Launch Under Way

The nation will attempt to launch its first space rocket on Tuesday.

The final rehearsal for the launch began at 11 a.m. Monday at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province.

During the final rehearsal, all facets of the launch are to be checked, including the injection of fuel and the oxidation agent, the ignition and blastoff, the first-rocket separation and the tracing of the satellite.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute says the results of the assessment will be analyzed at 5 p.m. Monday, following the completion of the rehearsal.

The launch time, tentatively set for 5 p.m., will be finalized and announced at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A software glitch halted the launch of the rocket on August 19th, eight minutes before the scheduled blastoff.
