The nation’s under-19 female soccer team beat China 1-0 on Sunday to advance to the finals of the Asian Football Confederation under-19 Women’s Championship.

The victory has also ensured the South Korean team a ticket to the FIFA under-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Germany in July next year.

South Korea’s defeat of China came in a semifinal match in the Chinese city of Wuhan following Ji So-yun’s goal in the 38th minute of the second half.

South Korea, the winner of the championship in 2004, will face Japan in the finals on Wednesday.
