Park to Compete in 200m Freestyle at World Championships

South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan will participate in the men's 200-meter freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Rome after being disqualified from Sunday’s 400-meter preliminary for a false start.

He will compete in Group 13 on Monday afternoon, Korean time.

Park has finished third in the 200-meter event in the World Championships once before and also took the silver in the event at last year's Beijing Olympics after finishing second to Michael Phelps.

Meanwhile, Germany's Paul Biedermann won the 400-meter final with a world record time of 3:40.07. Five world records were set on the first day of the championships Sunday.
