S.Korea Ranks 2nd in Asian Youth Games

The nation's young soccer team has won a gold medal at the first Asian Youth Games, currently under way in Singapore.

The national soccer team comprising players aged 14 or younger defeated North Korea by 2-0 to secure the gold.

Kim Sun-bin scored the first goal in the 21st minute of the first half and Kim Young-gyu notched another in the fifth minute of the second half.

Female bowler Sim Ui-jin secured another gold for the nation by winning the girls' masters on July 6.

South Korea ranks second out of 21 countries participating in the regional youth sports event, with 20 golds, 17 silvers and 17 bronzes.
