Rainmaking Experiments Modestly Successful

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) says its artificial rainmaking experiment in Gangwon Province has achieved partial success.

The KMA says that, from February to March of this year, two out of five rainmaking attempts using airplanes induced precipitation.

The amount of precipitation was minimal. One attempt yielded three millimeters of snow, while another produced five millimeters of rain.

Nevertheless, the results will serve as the basis for systematic rainmaking experiments in the future.

Last March, the meteorological administration also conducted modestly successful experiments.
