Cancer Restricting Potatoes Developed

The Rural Development Administration says it has developed two different types of potatoes that can restrict the development of certain types of cancer.

The potatoes, one reddish and one violet, contain more of the natural pigment anthocyanin than regular potatoes. Tests show they curb excess oxygen supply and thereby help to remove toxins from the body.

Additional tests found the colored potatoes are also an effective tool in helping to suppress prostate cancer.

The administration expects the new breed will be an income source for struggling potato farmers.
