Nation to Notify Int'l Community of Rocket Launch

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will soon notify international organizations of the nation's plan to launch its first space rocket.

The launch of “Naro” is scheduled to take place between 4:40 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. on July 30th at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province. But an additional week has been added to the launch window to account for possible delays resulting from unfavorable weather conditions.

The ministry will inform the International Civil Aviation Organization, International Maritime Organization and countries concerned of where and when the initial stages of the rocket will fall.

The first-stage booster was manufactured in Russia and arrived in South Korea on Friday.
