Domestic researchers have developed a method of producing a nano-element logic circuit using a proton beam.

A team led by Professor Lee Tak-hee at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology said Tuesday that it successfully developed a "hybrid complementary nano-element logic circuit" by using a proton beam to selectively control actuating voltage for nano elements.

The technology will pave the way for producers to make significantly smaller nano elements for semiconductors.

The findings will appear in the U.S. materials science journal “Advanced Materials” on Friday.
