Cha Hospital has succeeded in developing the technology to generate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) by using reprogramming proteins.

The method is considered ethical since the cells derived are somatic as opposed to germline, which means they are not derived from embryos.

Their findings were published Friday on the online edition of the scientific journal, Cell Stem Cell.
