The nation is expected to see hotter days this summer and an earlier start to the rainy season due to an overall increase in temperatures.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Friday that summer temperatures will start in early June due to high pressure in the North Pacific developing earlier than last year. The hot weather is expected to last into August.

The forecaster said that although there is a high chance the rainy season will start in mid-June, it doesn’t expect the nation will see heavy overall precipitation this summer.
