Nation's 1st Space Rocket Named 'Naro'

The nation’s first space rocket has been named “Naro.”

The Education, Science and Technology Ministry said Sunday that it selected the name submitted by a woman in the southern city of Gwangju who participated in a subscription event to name Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1.

The ministry said Naro was named after Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, where the rocket is expected to be launched at the end of July.
