Korean Peninsula Getting Warmer

The average temperature on the Korean Peninsula has jumped one-point-seven degrees Celsius over the past 90 years.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) based the assessment on its analysis of weather forecasts in six regions nationwide since 1912.

The KMA says the higher temperatures have led to shorter winters and longer summers.

The weather agency projects the average temperature will likely increase an additional four degrees by 2100, with standard winter weather patterns possibly vanishing in Jeju and other regions along the southern and eastern coasts.

The KMA added that the average global temperature jumped just over seven-tenths of a degree during the same period.
