Nation Marks 42nd Science Day

The government held a ceremony to mark the 42nd Science Day at the Gwacheon National Science Museum Tuesday.

At the ceremony, 80 people received awards and medals in recognition of their contributions to the development of science and technology.

The winners included Kyungwon University President Lee Gil-ya, robotics researcher Cho Hyung-seok, the chairman of the Korea Industrial Technology Association Huh Young-sup, and the nation’s first astronaut Yi So-yeon.

Additional events including a special exhibition on space science were held to commemorate the day.
