The Korean organizing committee for the World Cup (KOWOC) said Wednesday that it is stepping up efforts to raise interest in the upcoming soccer extravaganza by promoting an exchange of regionally based reporters to visit other cities hosting the games. The measures are designed to increase the flow of information and understanding between the press and the general public as well as give local organizers an opportunity to compare their preparation plans with those of other venues. The fact finding visits are also expected to contribute to national unity prior to and during the games.
