Soccer Team Edges Iraq 2-1 in Friendly

Striker Lee Keun-ho's penalty kick in the 71st minute gave the national soccer team a 2-1 win over Iraq in a friendly Saturday in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

The match was a tuneup for South Korea's World Cup qualifier against North Korea Wednesday night in Seoul.

Iraq got on the scoreboard first in the 54th minute after South Korean defender Hwang Jae-hoon scored an own goal.

Midfielder Kim Chi-woo tied the game two minutes later, and Lee's winner came after Ki Sung-yueng was brought down in the penalty box.

In Pyongyang, North Korea beat the United Arab Emirates 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Pyongyang.
