Deputy secretary general of the Korean Olympic Committee says the gold should be awarded to the athlete who finished first, not the athlete who is the crowd favorite. Angry South Korean netizens sent tens of thousands of protest e-mails ... crashing the U.S. Olympic Committee's Internet server for nine hours early Thursday. The Korean netizens denounced Ohno for making what they called "Hollywood gesture" as if he had been blocked unfairly when he realized he could not overtake Kim Dong-sung. They also called for strong action to get what they think was an apparent misjudgement overturned ... saying Kim was robbed of his gold medal. A Seoul citizen criticized the misjudgement on an internet bulletin board calling the Winter Games "an axis of evil" Olympics.
