Korea Beats Mexico in WBC

The national baseball team has topped Mexico in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) competition.

In a game held in the U.S. city of San Diego on Monday, Korea finished with 12 hits, including three homers, to win 8-2 over Mexico.

Pitcher Ryu Hyunjin started the game for Korea, giving up two earned over two and two-thirds. Oh Seung Hwan closed the game out with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth.

Korea will play rival Japan for the third time this tournament for a spot in the semifinals Wednesday. Japan topped Cuba earlier in the day 6-0.
