Gov’t to Train Robotics Experts

The government says it will train three-thousand master's and doctoral-level talents to become experts in the robotics industry as part of its plan to cultivate leaders for future industries.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said it will start by investing three-point-five billion won this year to train 320 people at robot research centers and graduate schools that specialize in robotics.

It plans to invest about 30 billion won over the next five years to produce a total of three-thousand robotics experts.

The ministry also said it will devise measures to resolve shortages of highly educated manpower at small and mid-sized firms in order to link the firms’ operations with companies in robotic industries.
