South Korea's star figure skater Kim Yu-na has won the gold medal at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
In a competition held Friday at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada, Kim put up a score of 116-point-83 in the ladies free skate for a total score of 189-point-07. The 19-year-old scored 72-point-24 in the short program held earlier in the week.
Kim was able to successfully rebound from a fall on an attempted triple loop jump at the one-minute mark of her routine to come out on top of the event. The experience is expected to give her a good footing for next year's Winter Olympics, as the competition is set to be held at the same venue in Vancouver.
Five-time Canadian champ Joannie Rochette finished second with a score of 183-point-91, and Kim's longtime rival, Japan's Mao Asada, came in third at 176-point-52.
