'Korea, Japan to Conduct Joint Study on Yellow Sandstorm'

South Korea and Japan will reportedly conduct a joint aerial observation of the atmosphere this coming spring to survey pollutants, including yellow sandstorm dust originating from China.

Japan's Asahi Shimbun daily says the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, the National Institute of Environmental Research in Korea, the University of Tokyo and another related Japanese institute will take part in the project.

For the survey, an aircraft will make three runs between Nagasaki and Seoul between late March and early April when strong westerly winds hit Asia.
