Korean Scientists Open New Door to Treating Cancer

A group of Korean scientists say they have discovered a new mechanism to repress cancer cell growth.

The team of scientists at the School of Biological Sciences at Seoul National University said Monday it confirmed the ability of the microRNA "miR-29" to regulate certain proteins which can disrupt the reproduction of cancer cells.

The recent discovery was published Monday in the online edition of the science journal "Nature Structural and Molecular Biology."
