The government says robots will soon be used to guide people to emergency exits during fires and to monitor vital signs of hospital patients.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said Tuesday that robot teachers, fire fighters and nurses will soon be in practical use as their key functions have been proven effective in trial runs.

The ministry noted that it plans to provide support for commercial robots in seven fields with business potential, including education, welfare and safety.
