South Korea will face the U.S. national team in the Gold Cup soccer tournament Saturday. Sources say the U.S. national soccer team will play without most of its European players. The U.S. has never lost a first-round game in the Gold Cup. It has a 16-3-1 record in the championship of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football. The United States lost to South Korea 1-to-0 in December. The teams will meet in the first round of the World Cup on June 10th. The Gold Cup includes 12 teams from three continents. Also playing in the first round at the Rose Bowl are Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala in Group A. The United States, South Korea and Cuba make up Group B. Mexico meets El Salvador in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
